New Voice: Gemma Cairney

We are thrilled to say that Gemma Cairney has joined The Joneses! Gemma is well known for presenting the weekend breakfast programme on BBC Radio 1 on Saturdays and Sundays from 7-10am, she also hosted the live BBC Three Glastonbury coverage this summer. Gemma previously presented the afternoon show on BBC Radio 1Xtra (weekdays 1pm-4pm), where she was nominated in the Best Music Radio Personality category in the Sony Awards 2012. Her radio documentary, ‘Bruising Silence’, aired on BBC Radio 1 in August 2012 and it recently won the Sony Gold Award at this year’s Sony Radio Academy Awards for Best Documentary or Feature. Gemma has a very infectious personality, she’s really bubbly and energetic. She has a husky, cool and distinct voice, she’s a one off!
